VIDEO MARKETING PORTFOLIO

Video marketing is one of the most compelling ways to engage your audience and get more traffic and leads for your business and social media platforms. Video content and social media sites like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and others are a strong testament to how effective the use of video is for marketing your products and services, and building your brand. If you’re not using video content as part of your marketing plan to build your brand, you’re severely limiting your exposure.

My primary goal here at BAP Media Group, is to help you to market your personal or professional brand. One of the ways that I do that is by creating engaging and compelling images and stories. My solutions for that include, online marketing ads, motion graphic videos, whiteboard videos, real estate videos, customer testimonials, and more.

As the former Director of Operations for Focus on Cars Inc., I have produced award winning TV commercials for several car manufactures, including ads for Ford, GM and Hyundai.

My support team and I have created videography and film events all over North America, including Canada and Mexico. Check out our portfolio below to see a few examples of the videos, commercials and online ads that we’ve created for some of our clients.

2011 Arrows Cadillac Commercial

In 2011, when the Cadillac CTS-V “Arrows” commercial was created, I was the Director of Operations for Focus on Cars Inc. We produced all of General Motors’ car commercials. The commercial below is one of the television ads that we produced for GM. The concept for the commercial came from Fallon, the advertising agency that we worked with to produce commercials for General Motors.

This particular commercial was shot with a Canon D7 and a Panasonic
HVX200. The car was actually shot on a paved airport runway surface. The dry lake bed surface that you see in the commercial was created in post production. Additionally, the arrows flying through the air and landing around the car were edited into the scene in post production as well.

Real Estate Marketing Video

Are you a realtor looking to get into real estate video marketing? If you are a realtor and you’re not utilizing the enormous potential of real estate video marketing, listen up! - Listings that use real estate video marketing receive 403% more inquiries than those that don’t. That’s a lot of potential home buyers! Additionally, 60% of consumers prefer video content over any other format for receiving online information.

Using video marketing to help sell homes, especially luxury homes, is a great way to get listings. But, you have to keep in mind that these types of marketing videos, although still important, lose their usefulness once the home is sold. Therefore, your real estate marketing plan should also include “evergreen” video marketing content. Evergreen video content is content that’s relevant for at least two years or more and should be posted on your YouTube and Facebook channels as well as your website. As a realtor, evergreen videos, such as agent introduction videos, local area expert videos, question and answer videos, local school interviews, and local amenities tours, can give you a tremendous advantage in your real estate career. Home buyers LOVE this type of content, because when they decide to purchase homes, they also “buy” into the local neighborhood’s culture and amenities.

Real estate video marketing is one of the niches that BAP Media Group specializes in. If you are a realtor and you’d like to consult with me regarding your video marketing strategy,
contact me and I’ll be happy to help lay out a video marketing plan to help support your sales efforts.

Drone Videography

There are many ways to grab the attention of your website visitors. You can write content rich blog posts. You can commit to consistent social media marketing campaign. Or if you have an commerce store, you can create a YouTube channel for product review videos.

All of these choices are good options and they all should be incorporated into your overall marketing plan. But, of all of the aforementioned choices, video marketing invokes the most emotional response, leading to more leads and more sales than any other marketing technique. And, if a picture is worth 1,000 words, then a video is worth 100,000 words. And if the idea is to illicit a strong emotional response from your potential customer, then having a marketing plan that includes drone footage is the pinnacle of attention grabbing marketing.

E Juice Rev Online Ad

I produced and edited this promotional video for E Juice Rev in the fall of 2016. E Juice Rev is a vape juice manufacturer in Anaheim, California. When Keith Hyatt, one of the co-owners of E Juice Rev contacted me about creating an online video ad for his vape company, I told him that I wasn’t a vapor and I that needed to do some research before committing to producing this project for his company.*

My research showed that most people that enjoy vaping are between the ages of 18 and 30 years old. So, at our next meeting, I proposed the concept of creating an online video ad with the “feel” of a music video. Additionally, I suggested that, since E Juice Rev manufactures vape products, that we develop an ad that revolves around the concept of “smoke”. Keith and his partner liked the concept and the results are what you see in the online ad below.

* As of 2019, there have been several news reports reiterating the dangers of using vaping products. In fact, as of this writing (in September 2019), there have been four deaths that have been attributed to vaping devices and vaping products.

In light of these negative vaping industry reports, BAP Media Group does not, in any way, advocate the use of nicotine products (i.e. vaping juices and devices) of any kind.

Therefore, the purpose of this video is to simply demonstrate our videography and video editing capabilities only. This online vaping ad is the first and the last one that we will ever produce.

Custom Whiteboard Videos

Over the past 10 years or so, whiteboard animation has proven itself again and again as the hands down favorite for reaching viewers with complex nuanced information. Everything from product explainers, detailed software launches and updates, and even full blown fictional storytelling benefit from whiteboard animation.

So, if you are marketing a product or service that is complex or difficult to explain, the neuroscience is in, and whiteboard animation wins vs. a talking head video every time. If you’re considering using whiteboard videos to market your product or service, but you’re not sure if a whiteboard video is a good platform for your marketing plan,
contact me and I’ll be happy to consult with you about your options.

Paul & Nicole Wedding

I TOLD THE CLIENT, “NO!” - Fortunately for him, my “client” for this wedding video happens to be one of my best friends. I’ve known Lewis “Deputy” Green since I was 18 years old. He was a regular dancer on the TV show, “Soul Train” back in the ’80s. Deputy and another guest shot this wedding as a gift for his niece, Nicole. Deputy sat on the footage for over a year, before he approached me about editing the footage for him. When I saw the raw footage, I told him that I didn’t want to put my name on this project.

I prefer to have full control of my video projects, from preproduction to postproduction. Having control of the entire process allows me to deliver a high quality product. The footage that Deputy gave me was of very poor quality. It was shot with an iPad Mini, and an Android phone, with no audio gear, no lighting gear, and no tripods. There’s nothing wrong with shooting with mobile devices in and of itself. I’ve seen some brilliant videos and documentaries that were created exclusively with iPhones (along with the appropriate gear), by some great videographers/editors.

But, the footage that Deputy gave me showed those tell-tell shooting techniques that immediately screamed, SHOT BY AN AMATEUR! After being on TV every week for several years, you would think that Deputy would have known better. He had a great opportunity, on a regular basis, to watch how professional TV production is actually done :-) I finally agreed to edit the footage after he insisted that I “help” him out (it was more like badgering me; but he’s my boy, so I gave him a hard time about his “cinematography” skills; and then agreed to edit the footage for him).

It’s important for me to tell you that I thought long and hard before adding this video to my portfolio. The quality of the footage was really bad. In the end though, I decided to include the video in my portfolio for two major reasons; Deputy said that when he flew back to Virginia to visit his niece and deliver the finale video, Nicole was so happy with the results, that she watched it (in his words) “a million times.” From an video editor’s point of view, that’s your goal; do everything you can to make the customer happy.

Secondly, although the footage was not of great quality, I believe that adding the video to my portfolio is a good way to show potential clients of what I’m able to accomplish as a video, sound and special effects editor. I tried to cut as much of the poorly shot scenes as possible. But, for the sake of the (wedding) story’s continuity purposes, I chose to leave some of those scenes in the video.

The video is 49 minutes long. If you don’t have time to watch the entire video, there are some special moments to watch during the opening intro scenes, and @ 5:48 (flower girls commanding the procession), @ 8:19 (Paul, the groom, forgetting the “father giving away the bride” protocol), @ 29:00 (the post ceremony procession), @ 43:34 (Deputy, at 60 years old, revisiting his “Soul Train” days on the dance floor), and finally @ 46:00 - 49:17 (Surprise Ending!).

Skye’s Apple Camp Video

My son Skye created the video below when he was 8 years old. It was his graduation project for Apple Camp. While at Apple Camp, Skye learned how to write his own script, create a storyboard, direct, shoot and edit video. The result of his project is what is presented in his video below. Now, I understand that it may not be such a big deal to you, but I’m his father; It’s a real big deal for me (smile).
